    • Implementation of the practical functional assessment (PFA) to understand why problem behavior is occurring
    • Use of skill-based treatment (SBT) to teach replacement behaviors that allow the individual to meet their needs.

    • Use of SBT to safely and systematically teach life skills of communication, tolerance for frustration, and a range of contextually appropriate behaviors (CABs) through repeated practice sessions using personalized contingencies identified in the PFA.
